Specialties: Conflict Resolution, Facilitation, Organization Design

Rick Buccheri became an organizational development consultant to help mission-based organizations do what they do better. He draws on his eighteen years of experience in interpersonal and organizational conflict resolution to facilitate collaborative processes among passionate people.

Rick initially launched his career as a community mediator and large-group facilitator, creating equity between decision makers, balancing power dynamics, and helping people to feel heard and work together toward mutually beneficial solutions. As the Director of Programs at ADR Vantage, he began bringing collaborative processes to large and complex organizations while also helping them address systemic conflict. Rick has facilitated successful strategic planning, change management, and climate assessment processes for large organizations like the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and National Archives.

Rick has also led and supported strategic planning efforts at small nonprofit organizations like the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County where he served as a program manager, later as board president, and eventually as an external consultant. His personal experience has taught him the importance of engaging staff and board members throughout the process and ensuring their buy-in to strategic goals and initiatives.

Rick has provided training on conflict resolution, leadership development, and team performance at the US Army, US Department of Agriculture, and UPS. Most recently, as a Senior Consultant at The Clearing, Rick implemented an organization-wide workplace culture transformation at the Architect of the Capitol.

Rick holds a Master of Science in Organization Development degree from American University. He is a certified Conflict Coach. He has served as an adjunct instructor at American University, the principal host of the OD Salon.
