Office of Minority Health (OMH) | Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
The Context
The operational landscape for OMH had drastically changed over the past 2 years. The office had grown in size as well as importance in the eyes of CMS leadership. OMH leadership was facing new challenges both in leading large teams in a remote environment and learning how to collaborate together as a leadership team. The executive director of OMH requested Joyedele Consultings support in bringing together the leadership team to engage in dialogue and find solutions to these challenges.
Our Approach
Joyedele Consulting designed and facilitated a one day leadership retreat which focused on helping leadership clarify their vision for the future of OMH, and identify the first steps necessary to operationalize that vision. Joyedele also facilitated a candid dialogue among the leadership team about their team dynamic and the skills gaps within the team.
The Result
As a result of the offsite, OMH leadership walked away with a shared vision for the future of the Office which they were then able to share with staff. They also created clarity around the strategies needed to operationalize that vision, identified potential risks, and ways to mitigate them.
